This isn’t an ‘every vintage’ wine. Byron & Harold only makes it when the conditions are right for something special. Seems to us most every vintage is special in Margaret River, so you know they are very discerning when they’ll skip a year in the region. This is that sort of cabernet that just keeps coming at you with detail after detail: black olive, blackberry, cocoa, cedar, graphite and violet just to get started. Some spice and tannin on the finish round out the experience, letting you know that when the tough choice had to be made whether or not to make this wine in 2019, the winemaker chose wisely.
