Nicolas Rossignol was born to make Burgundian wine, coming from a family of winemakers (5 generations) his curiosity for the land and its terroirs can be seen across his appellation wines. His experience has spanned across the Burgundy region, South Africa’s Franschhoek, the Medoc and Châteauneuf du Pape before returning to his home soils in Beaune. Domaine Nicolas Rossignol has expanded from just 3ha in 1997, to 17ha and 30 appellation labels today. If anyone knows how to extract every ounce of character from the regions of Burgundy, it’s Mr. Rossignol.
Savigny-les-Beaune is known for fresh flavours, crisp acidity and a bit of body. Nicolas Rossignol’s expression of this stays true to form. The vines are 50 years old and rooted almost entirely in clay. This is one that can be enjoyed early but will certainly age well.
